Early in the morning of April 21st around 0240 hours, Sarver Station 36, Buffalo Township Station 27, Saxonburg Station 15, and Freeport EMS Station 70 (Armstrong County) were dispatched for a reported structure fire in 36's first due. Upon dispatch, Butler Control reported evacuation was in progress. Engine 36 marked en-route with a crew of 5. While en-route, Buffalo Township Police reported a fire in the wall behind a dryer. Engine 36 arrived on scene first with smoke showing, Chief 36-2 established command and the engine laid a supply line. 36 crews quickly advanced a hand line into the building and made a strong attack on the fire which involved multiple rooms in the residence. Engine 27 also laid back the lane and Tanker 27 established a porta-tank for a water supply. Chief 36 also arrived on scene and assumed command. Crews worked quickly to overhaul the building and save a good amount of property! No injuries were reported and crews returned in service in a few hours. Good job to all crews involved. Other units on scene included Brush 36, Fire Police 27, Engine 15, Tanker 15, and Freeport Medic 70-2.
